POLICY FOR THE DENTAL HYGIENE MEDICAL EMERGENCY RECOGNITION COURSE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR DENTAL HYGIENISTS INTENDING TO PRACTICE WITHOUT THE DENTIST BEING PHYSICALLY PRESENT

Preamble: The purpose of this policy is to address the minimum practice requirements for a dental hygienist intending to obtain the dental hygiene medical emergency recognition course in order to practice without the dentist being physically present.

Any dental hygienist who intends to obtain a dental hygiene medical emergency recognition course as outlined in Section 4715.22(C)(2) of the Ohio Revised Code, and Section 4715-9-01(A)(2) in order to practice without the dentist being physically present must meet the requirements set forth in Section 4715.22(C)(1) of the Ohio Revised Code, and Section 4715-9-01(A)(1) prior to course completion in order to be permitted to practice without the dentist being physically present.
